The 4,500 sf project consists of executive offices and an upscale residence located in downtown Fairhope. The residence included an elevator, 3 bedrooms, a custom kitchen, and large balconies. The offices included a copy room, individual offices, conference room, and reception area.

Project Description:
This building was constructed during the Civil War. Thomas Industries converted it into two town house style luxury apartments, while keeping the exterior historically correct. The work was completed in 6 months and both apartments leased even before construction was completed. In 2001, Thomas Construction was awarded the prestigious Downtown Innovation Award by Main Street Mobile, Inc. “for their Innovative Rehabilitation of the Good Samaritan Hall and their Continuous Contributions to the Built Environment.” Thomas Industries

Project Description:
The 17,075 sf corporate headquarters consists of 5,000 sf of finished office space, 8,400 sf of warehouse, 1,800 sf of metal work shop, 1,875 sf of mechanic’s shop, two employee parking lots, a customer parking lot, and an enclosed lay down yard for equipment and trucks. The facility is built to withstand a hurricane. The components consist of concrete filled masonry walls and steel framing. The concrete slabs were designed to accommodate point loads in excess of 12,000 pounds due to materials that were being stored.

This job was a challenge due to its location in downtown Mobile, soil conditions, time frame of completion and the 2 hurricanes that arrived during the process of construction. Murphy High School Cafeteria

Project Description:
12,200 sf renovation to both the interior and exterior of the existing cafeteria. The space consists of serving lines, dining area, concession room and one classroom. The exterior work includes: stucco, modified bitumen roof, frp doors, masonry and glazing. The interior work includes the following: lead and asbestos abatement, aluminum storefront, plaster, drywall, acoustical ceilings, vct, HVAC, electrical and painting.
Project Highlights:
The cafeteria renovation was built in two phases of construction. The initial phase commenced during school and allowed us to occupy one third of the existing space. As soon as the summer term began we were able to work on the entire space. Fairhope Tennis Facility

Stimpson Field, Fairhope, AL
Project Description:
Thomas Construction worked on the 2,800 sf complex with both the Architect and the Recreation Director for the City of Fairhope to deliver this facility within a tight budget and time frame. This building complements the recently built tennis courts and gives the public a great recreational amenity.
E-911 Communications Facility

Project Description:
Facility up-grade, interior renovation, and re-roof to the high security emergency communications building in Mobile County. Roof deck was replaced and structure was enhanced to meet higher standards of wind resistance.
Project Highlights:
The job consisted of exterior additions and improvements as well as interior modifications. The entire construction process was coordinated so as to not disturb the emergency dispatchers. BankTrust

Project Highlights:
Thomas Construction coordinated all the banking equipment, networking systems, and alarm systems for the owner to allow for a more timely completion. Fairhope Museum of History

Project Description:
5,500 sf building that consists of 2,200 sf of renovation to the old city hall and an addition of 3,300 sf of exhibition rooms. The space consists of exhibition rooms, conference room, offices, large storage rooms, bathrooms and a city park.
Project Highlights:
After the project began, the owner decided to add a lighting control panel and a lift in the main exhibition room. The picket handrails at the mezzanine level were changed to a metal rail depicting scenes of Fairhope. Up lighting was added on the exterior facade of the building. Living Well Health Center

Providence Hospital Mobile, AL
Project Description:
Buildout of 9,000 sf space consisting of a reception area, living room, kitchen, dining room, four education rooms, telecommunication room, nine exam rooms, x-ray, lab, drug dispensing, staff lounge, outreach, three general offices, four bathrooms and a courtyard.
Project Highlights:
The owner also requested that we coordinate/ install most of the art, furnishings and equipment. This helped to expedite the process and simplify the job for the end users.
